A constituent unit of Magadh-University,the college was established on 18th June,1964 and is named after great freedom fighter Bihar Vibhuti Dr. Anugrah Narayan Sinha, whose wisdom, vision and knowledge made him a national icon. His epoch making success in chartering new paths and freeing the mind of dogmatic shackles serve as the guiding spirit for vision and mission of this college. The college launches its students on an exciting journey of discovery of the world outside and the potential within. It is a veritable hub for total personality development. The college can boast of an academically sound and committed faculty, who impart education in class room. Seminars, work shops and add on courses serve to open new windows beyond the curriculum, through interface with other experts in academia and the industry. We aim to kindle in our youth a passion for research, innovation and creativity. Professional training is imparted in the area of sports. Several avenues are available for experiencing the emotional rewards of service to the less fortunate, such as NSS. Another milestone was achieved with the establishment of B.Ed. department in 2013, the first ever B.Ed. unit in a constituent college of Magadh-University ; H.E. Kerala Governor Shri Nikhil Kr. & hon'ble VC, M.U. Shri R.K. Khandelwal, IAS inaugurated the SN Sinha Bhawan and the Education department.

The college has an excellent infrastructure that includes computer laboratories, common rooms, free internet, a huge library (to be computerized very soon ), an up coming multipurpose state of the art Satyendra Narayan Sinha Conference Hall whose foundation stone was recently led by hon'ble Education Minister of Bihar Shri Krishna Nandan Pd. Verma & hon'ble acting VC,M.U. Shri Karyanand Paswan, Seminar hall, well furnished class rooms, renovated science laboratories, a state of the art Anugrah conference hall in B.Ed. department, other amenities include a counseling cell, students common room, Kaveri Sweets Cafeteria, K.S. Women's Hostel and impressive vast sports field, among others. Extremely courteous and helpful administrative staff are always available to guide the students through all procedural formalities.
